The department of Var, the green Provence and especially the region around Tourtour have aroused our special interest. Despite all adversities with COVID-19, we went there for the third time this year.
The wide green spaces with lots of forest, large domains with vineries and lavender fields radiate a peace and quietness which is hardly to be found here anymore. To get to know the region better, we have chosen the Petite Auberge in Tourtour as our cosy home away from home. This time the excursions took us to places such as Hyères, Bormes-les-Mimosas, where we bought on the D42A on our way to Bormes-les-Mimosas, 4 kg of delicious organic figs for 26,8 € . Then on to Cavalaire-sur-Mer, La Croix-Valmer, Grimaud, Vidauban, Lorgues, Flayosc and back to Tourtour.
Besides the problem of COVID-19 along the Côte d'Azur, we missed the peace and quietness that we appreciated so much in the region around Tourtour.
