The weather in January and February was generally good. Therefore, we made some short trips to the neighboring Pays-d'Enhaut.
Château-d'Oex is wonderfully located and mostly sheltered from the cold bise, a north wind. There are also beautiful hiking trails where you can enjoy the magnificent scenery on circular walks. Thereby you rarely meet tourists so the social distancing can be easily granted. Perfect to escape the COVID-19 daily routine in an environment with fresh air.

As it turned out later, we followed a good strategy with the short visits to the neighboring Pays-d'Enhaut. The coming months of March, April and May showed a rather cool and damp side.
Not exactly a good time to escape the climate in the COVID-19 home office.
However, Nature is certainly pleased with all that rain, and so it may be possible to counteract somewhat the omnipresent water deficit.
