Since the driveway to the house is relatively long, we decided to automate the entrance gate. The necessary cable ducts were already in place.
However, the installation itself presented significant difficulties. The video in-house device purchased on recommendation could not connect to the existing home network. The contractor was unable to get the previously purchased video system to work. A new video system had to be purchased.
On top of that, the brand-new system did not survive an unfortunate mishap by the electrician. So a new motherboard had to be ordered.
All's well that ends well: after two months, the system is now working. The entrance gate is now equipped with a connected video in-house unit to facilitate communication with the letter carrier, for example.
